Commercial insurance for Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma businesses

General liability, business owners policies, workers compensation, commercial auto and group health, shopped across carriers by an independent agency licensed in all three states.

What commercial insurance covers

Commercial insurance is the set of policies that keep a business running when something goes wrong: a customer is injured on your property, an employee is hurt on the job, or a work truck is in an accident. Most businesses carry several of these policies side by side rather than one all-in-one product.

Which ones you need depends on what you do, how many people you employ, whether you own or lease your space, and what your contracts or your state require. A contractor bidding public work, a restaurant with a liquor license, and a service company running a fleet of vans all face very different requirements.

The coverages we write

General liability. Third-party bodily injury and property damage claims arising from your premises or your work, plus the cost of defending them. The policy landlords and general contractors ask to see before you start.

Business owners policy (BOP). General liability bundled with commercial property and usually business interruption, priced lower together than separately. Built for smaller, lower-hazard operations.

Workers compensation. Medical care and lost wages for employees hurt at work, required for most employers with staff. The rules differ in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, which matters for crews that cross the line.

Commercial auto. Vehicles owned, leased or driven for the business, including hired and non-owned coverage for employees using their own cars on company time.

Group health. Employee medical plans, handled by the same office as the rest of your coverage.

We learn your business. Then we shop your insurance.

Most commercial insurance shopping starts with a rate. Send over the current policy, see who is cheaper. That finds a percentage and misses the exposure that could close the business.

We start with a ten-minute review instead: what could someone sue you for, what would it cost to replace everything you own, how long you could survive closed, whether tools leave the premises, who drives, whether you use subcontractors, what data you hold, and what your contracts require. Then we shop it. The business insurance checkup is the worksheet we use, and you can print it before you call.

Free contract insurance review: send us the insurance section of a lease or customer contract and we will tell you whether your current policies actually comply — additional insured status, completed operations, waivers of subrogation and limits.

Contractors: start with the contractor insurance page, which covers tools at the job site, subcontractor exposure and GC requirements.

Businesses we insure

We specialize in small and locally owned businesses across Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma — businesses with straightforward insurance needs whose owners want to understand the coverage, compare the options and get a competitive rate.

Contractors and skilled trades — painters, flooring installers, handymen, landscapers, lawn-care companies, cleaning services and other eligible trades. More for contractors.

Retail stores — boutiques, convenience stores, specialty shops and other local retailers.

Restaurants and food businesses — restaurants, cafés, coffee shops and other eligible food-service operations.

Professional and business offices — administrative offices and other lower-hazard office-based businesses.

Property owners and landlords — commercial buildings, single-family rentals, duplexes and other eligible real-estate risks.

Auto-related businesses — detailers and other eligible automotive-service businesses.

Personal-service businesses — salons, barbershops, pet groomers and similar.

Small wholesalers and distributors, small service businesses such as janitorial and maintenance companies, and other eligible small businesses.

Depending on the business, we can help with general liability, business owners policies, commercial property, business income, commercial auto, workers compensation, tools and equipment coverage, and umbrella or excess liability.

Not sure whether we insure your type of business?

Give us a call. Every insurance company has different eligibility requirements based on the type of business, its operations, payroll, sales, property, vehicles, employees and loss history.

We will learn a little about what you do, determine whether we have an appropriate market for it, and help you understand your options either way.

1. Tell us about your business

We ask a few questions about what the business does, where you operate, your sales and payroll, employees, property, vehicles, equipment and current insurance. Depending on the coverage, we may also ask for:

Your current policies or declaration pages · current premiums and limits · three to five years of loss runs, when required · employee payroll and job classifications · vehicle and driver information · property, equipment or inventory values · subcontractor information, when applicable · and any contracts or leases with specific insurance requirements.

Do not worry if you do not have all of it. Send what you have and we will tell you what is still needed.

2. We shop the market

Instead of you contacting insurance companies one at a time, we do the shopping. We are independent, so we compare what is available on price, coverage, deductibles, limits, exclusions and what your business actually needs.

The lowest-priced policy is not always the best choice, and we will point out the differences that would matter if you have a claim.

Most commercial quotes come back within 24 hours. Accounts needing underwriting review, loss runs, inspections or extra information take longer, and we will tell you up front which one yours is.

3. We explain your options

We show you the options we recommend and explain the differences in plain English. You will know what it costs, what it covers, what the deductibles are, and what important exposures may not be covered.

Then you decide which one makes the most sense for the business.

4. We get you covered

Once you choose, we help complete the paperwork, collect signatures and payment information, and get the coverage in force.

Need proof of insurance? We issue certificates of insurance and send them to customers, landlords, general contractors, lenders or other parties as appropriate. If a contract requires additional insured status or specific wording, tell us and we will review the requirement and confirm what the policy and carrier can provide. What a certificate actually proves.

5. We keep shopping at renewal

Insurance companies change rates and appetite over time. The company that was a great fit last year is not automatically the right one this year.

At renewal we review your pricing and coverage and, where it makes sense, compare other available options so the business stays competitively insured.

One call. Multiple options. Local help. You run the business — let us do the insurance shopping.

Common questions

How much does commercial insurance cost?

There is no single price. Premiums are driven by your industry and its risk level, payroll and revenue, claims history, coverage limits, deductibles and location. A small office and a roofing crew of the same size can differ by many times over. The practical step is to get quotes on the specific coverage you need.

Do I need workers compensation insurance?

In most cases yes, once you have employees, though the number of employees that triggers the requirement and the exemptions available differ by state. Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma each set their own rules, and contracts with general contractors or clients often require coverage regardless of the legal threshold. Call us and we will walk through where your business falls.

Is a business owners policy enough on its own?

A BOP covers liability and property, which for a small, low-hazard business can be most of the exposure. It does not include workers compensation or commercial auto, so those are written alongside it.

Can you cover a business that operates in more than one state?

Yes. We are licensed in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, which matters for businesses with crews, vehicles or locations crossing state lines, since workers compensation and auto requirements are set state by state.

What do you need from me to quote it?

What the business does and where, your sales and payroll, employee count, property, vehicles and equipment, and your current policies or declaration pages. Depending on the coverage we may also need three to five years of loss runs, job classifications, driver information, subcontractor details, and any contract or lease with insurance requirements in it. Send what you have and we will tell you what is still needed.
